Meet the Teacher
Melisa Gilfillan started ballet at the young age of 3 and has always had a passion for dance and the arts. As a young dancer she was part of the back then “State theatre ballet school” and Tswane Youth Ballet Company, performances included The Nutcracker, Cinderella, La Sylphide and The Sleeping Beauty.
Her real training commenced in her high school years under the guidance of Senior Examiner and former Principal in PACT Ballet, Joy Cooper. After high school she was part of Zia Dance Company and completed her Associate and Associate Diploma in the Cecchetti method. Other dance and qualifications include Advanced 1 in Cecchetti as well as Advanced 2 in RAD under the guidance of Paula Olivier, teacher's diploma in SADTA modern dancing and a BA Honours degree in Psychology through UNISA.
