Finding Inspiration in Every Movement
Melisa Gilfillan Dance Academy was established in 2008 in Pretoria and relocated to Polokwane in 2014.
The Academy offers quality classical ballet training and transforms passionate dance students into versatile individualistic artists able to collaborate and evolve fluidly in a fast-changing society.
The Academy offers a broad spectrum of opportunities. Students participate in the annual Cecchetti Ballet Examinations, Limpopo Eisteddfod, yearly recital, and ballet productions. Students of the Academy have gained access to participate in the Cecchetti Awards held in Johannesburg and walked away with the award for the “Best Performing Test Group” in 2019.
The Academy offers regular holiday school workshops and master classes with guest teachers.
Dance plays an important role in development in children. It teaches co- ordination, discipline, independence and improves concentration.
Classes are offered at the main Studio 73 Johnson str, as well as at Mitchell House, Pepps, Eagles Nest and Angels Play. All classes are held within a safe and secure environment and complies with Covid regulations.
